...Things in the making

Rory's third release will be that of an experiment in time  for the artist. " I'm only using four songs." Even less material than in prior projects. And editing finds great importance surrounding Rory's third release. " It's really because the material on -LUCKCHARM- hits very close to home for me. Not to say that I haven't always tried to be as minimal and straight to the heart as possible before, (with earlier projects)." Rory's first album, MADE, was more upbeat and full of smiles, (More ROCK n' ROLL). "MADE was just sort of a big flirt for me." And THE WALTZ plucked heartstrings especially, but in a more classically romantic fashion. Rory's new project -LUCKCHARM-, is one that romanticizes the self and one's own experiences without regard for anyone or anything in the way. " I have songs and music about dead relatives on this album. Songs and music about wanting to hurt and kill people. Songs and music about questioning myself, and failing. Songs and music about leaving things and people behind." It's all heavy stuff, most would agree. Probably as close to THE BLUES as the artist has come inside his studio work; even though it be semi-electronic. And even though only one of the four songs on -LUCKCHARM- is consisted of just GUITAR/VOCALS/FOOT. " I believe that if I released something of this emotional magnitude that was bigger, (more songs) that it would just get gross. A few songs is enough. I am absolutely ready to wear it all on my sleeve. I think that that sort of behavior is not only in my nature, but it is also my job. If you can't do that, than you should put your guitar down. But by no means am I willing to stretch it all out, and make a gimmick of my life. Four songs and room to move is enough." And so, while -LUCKCHARM- waits around in Rory's little house to find you all at gigs and parties and online', take a peak at his debut music video ALL BEHIND MY EAR. But whatever you do, DON'T GET IN HIS WAY, FOLKS.
